"ELECTRONICA” monthly magazine for the electronic and technological industry in Israel, Vol. 148
Tzvi Levinson, Julia Lietzmann and Gil Dror Adv.
The article describes the legal frame of the RoHS Directive and its difference compared to the WEEE Directive and specifies the exemptions. Each product should be carefully examined in order to determine its classification/exemption from the directive and what are the best strategies for adjustment to the directive.
Classifying products and preparing compliance to the directive requirements is a long process, demanding resource assignment and skilled manpower. Therefore companies will be wise to take promt actions.
The investment in early planning will be significantly lower than the implications of non compliance- products stopped at the customs and criminal penalties.
