United Kingdom - tougher and faster actions on water companies
11.04.2025The Water (Special Measures) Act 2025 was adopted. The Act empowers regulators to take tougher actions on water companies. Measures include also independent monitoring of sewage outlets, requirements to publish real-time data for all emergency overflows, including increasing the ability of the Environment Agency to bring forward criminal charges against water executives who break the law.
