Full acquittal in environmental criminal proceedings

At the end of a seven-year criminal proceeding against two construction companies and two managers, all of whom were represented by our firm, on charges of causing air pollution under the Clean Air Act, causing dirt under the Maintenance of Cleanliness Law and breaching conditions under the Business Licensing Law, the Magistrate Court convicted one company and one manager in three of the fifty-two offenses in which they were charged. After an appeal that was filed with the District Court on the convictions, the District Court decided to reverse all charges and canceled the Magistrate court judgment on grounds of abuse of process as well.
