European leaders reached an agreement on the final revisions to the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED) III. It aims to increase renewable energy in the EU’s overall energy consumption to 42.5% by 2030. Member States will have 18 months to transpose the directive into national legislation. RED III provides specific targets for renewable energy in various sectors, including transport, industry, buildings, and district heating and cooling.
