Pre-registration is a process in which a manufacturer of chemicals , compounds of chemicals, or articles that contain chemicals intended to be released to the environment, and the appear in a list  that can make them suitable for pre-registration ("phase-in substances") serves ECHA request containing basic information in order to enjoy extension dates available in REACH registration. Pre-registration period has been assigned a time window of about six months, from 1 June to 1 December 2008. This list relates to a situation in which companies make their products from materials provided by suppliers of materials along the supply chain. To enable manufacturers or importers of these products to assess whether they can perform pre-registration, they should gather as much information from suppliers of raw materials.
